Sam’s Cats and Dogs, Naturally – “Best of Western Washington” winner Sam’s Cats & Dogs, Naturally, wanted to bulk up on its social media muscle to help spread the word about the broad variety of natural pet foods and supplies it offers.  We created a social media communications plan to build a strong online community and share the wealth of knowledge about natural pet food products Sam and his team have amassed.

NewsCloud - Worked with Seattle-based online news aggregator NewsCloud and University of Minnesota researchers to create and launch groundbreaking applications to measure how people use social media to read and share news. Hot Dish, a climate change news-sharing community in partnership with Grist.org, and Minnesota Daily on Facebook, a student-run news site, were the results of these efforts. I provided project management, media relations, marketing and business partner development services on these projects. These results from the University of Minnesota’s research show our hard work paid off – and that social media truly is connecting people beyond their real-world communities.

Phinney Bischoff Design HouseOne of Seattle’s premiere branding, design, strategy and interactive companies, Phinney Bischoff Design House has been creating visionary, award-winning work for over 28 years. I worked with Phinney Bischoff Design House to solidify its social media and communications strategy and integrate these into its corporate marketing mix.

PAWS - PAWS asked me to assist its Board of Directors with social media planning as part of an agency-wide rebranding effort. I provided  strategic guidance and implementation planning for PAWS’ social media goals and have been very excited to see their success in this area since the brand launch in early 2010 (including sweeping Seattle Weekly‘s Best of the Web 2010 awards, winning Seattle Best Online Presence – Non-Profit, Seattle’s Best Online Presence – Activism, and Seattle’s Best Online Presence – Pets/Pet Store).

Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest – Opened in Summer 2008, I began planning and managing highly successful media relations and social marketing campaigns for this non-profit chimpanzee sanctuary – one of only nine in the United States – in 2006. Major accomplishments included national Associated Press placement and coverage in major local and regional television and print media. I also initiated a successful social media strategy for the Sanctuary with the implementation of  blog, Facebook and You Tube presences. These efforts have resulted in the addition of thousands of new supporters, thousands of dollars in donations through Facebook, and top-viewed non-profit rating status on You Tube. I continued to work with the sanctuary as a member of its Board of Directors until the end of my Board term in May 2010. Of course, I am still an active supporter.

Law Firm of David N. Jolly – I worked with this Puget Sound-area law firm to establish and grow its social media presence, and to identify real-world PR opportunities and strategies for the release of a DUI-specific iPhone app and Mr. Jolly’s books The DUI Handbook for the Accused, the best-selling DUI book in the country on Amazon.com and DUI/DWI: The History of Driving Under the Influence.

Cocoon House – A non-profit transitional housing, educational and life skills provider for at-risk youth. I  developed a proactive three-year strategic communications and marketing plan. Specifics included branding, corporate messaging, media outreach, community relations, and social media.
